Supporting Mental Health 

1 in 5 Canadians are dealing with a mental health issue and as friends, peers, and family, it is important that we support one another, especially those coping with mental health.

Supporting a Loved One

  • Validate their emotions when they express their feelings

  • Create a space where they feel safe and comfortable enough to communicate

  • Be ready to listen 

  • Express your support for them and encourage them to see treatment 

  • Resist the temptation to give advice - instead, just provide support and love

  • Allow them the time, space and support to heal
