General Study Tips

  1. Find a method of studying that suits you:

  • flash cards

  • Diagrams

  • Writing notes and reading them out loud

  • listening to music

  • practice questions.

Study groups are great ways to study: another person may know a piece of information that you don’t, and you might know something they don’t. Teaching someone the topics helps you better your own knowledge, and is helpful for someone if they forgot to study and need your help!

Set goals for yourself for the end of the study session. What do you want to accomplish by the end? Don’t be too hard on yourself if you don’t get everything done, and most importantly don’t stress!! What you study is under your control. Make a schedule for yourself so you can organize your time to achieve what you want to.

Find a good location. Try to be in a more organized environment as it will also organize your mind.

Drink WATER!! It is important to stay hydrated.

Taking notes consistently helps you remember and reference the information for later on, which is why taking notes is more effective long-term than asking for notes from a friend. These notes should be brief to avoid confusing yourself with the added words.
