Tip of the Month

This month we're all about diagrams!

Diagrams are a great way to give yourself a visual representation of the topics you need to learn. They work for many subjects and for a variety of topics: from the plot of a story in English, to mitosis in Biology, diagrams have got your back.

You don't have to be a visual learner to find the use of them, because there are so many types. Here are a few types that could help you out:

Flow Charts

This diagram is very useful for showing a sequence of steps that occur. If you are trying to get a visual representation of a series of things, you can put them in order in a flow chart, to see the progression from one thing to the next.

Mind Maps

Mind maps are perfect for if you need some help brainstorming assignment ideas. It allows you to have one main idea (being your main topic) and then branch out different possibilities all around it. You can continue to branch off of each idea as you go, until you have large "web" of possibilities.

Venn Diagrams

This diagram is used to compare and contrast different ideas. You can write in three topics/subjects and list their unique traits in their own circles. Then, in the places where the circles overlap, write things that those topics have in common. This is a great way to show yourself which subjects are more alike, and which aren't.
